Cyber Security and Resilience: Meeting Future Challenges.

Following on from the recent successful virtual event ‘The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill: Will it meet the challenge?’, the IoCR and CSBR hosted a second session continuing the theme and provided a thoughtful introduction to their work, aligning with the growing urgency for cyber resilience in todays rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Keynote speaker and Chair of the CSBR, James Morris, lead the conversation on how positive collaboration, shared expertise and likeminded subject matter experts or interested parties can result in strengthening cyber resilience together.

The conversation explored how vital the role of collaboration is between industries and government in strengthening the UK’s resilience to cyber threats. From the practical implications of the upcoming Cyber Security and Resilience Bill to the broader challenges of protecting critical infrastructure, it was clear that progress depends on partnership, shared learning and leadership.

The IoCR and CSBR were joined by guest speaker Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones providing an experienced view of how ‘the UK is falling behind’. The Baroness eloquently delved into how awareness remains low unless we become a victim of a cyber-attack ourselves or experience personal disruption, how preventative measures are key to successful recovery from cyber-attacks, and that organisations should have systems in place to demonstrate that attacks have little benefit to those behind it. Points were raised towards Ai and the need for the Government to ensure they have a plan for if/when we are attacked.
